This beautiful young street girl in Jaipur, India, is an aspiring model. After collecting a bill for a photo I took of her, she stood in the street and struck poses for me. I took 4 more shots, and she was startled when I turned to leave. In the closeup there are visible tiny crumbs at the corners of her mouth from a biscuit she had a moment before eaten, and the lines are visible where she stopped washing her face. She was clean, as were her stained clothes. Her chance of advancing her standing in life is curtailed by the caste system and by her success at living on the streets. Clean water public wells throughout the City as well the countryside improve her chances of a long life. Violence to women is far less prevalent in Jaipur than in Mumbai. I wish her well.
